Mission Bay Loop Public Meeting
from Monday, February 11 6:00PM - Monday, February 11 7:30PM
Please join us to discuss the Mission Bay Loop Transit Project. In 2003, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) began Third Street T-Line service between Embarcadero and Sunnydale. Upon completion of the Central Subway, the Mission Bay Loop will allow for more frequent service between Mission Bay, SOMA and Chinatown by finishing the train turnaround at Third, 18th, 19th and Illinois Streets. Transit frequency south of Mission Bay will also be increased. SFMTA is now completing the required federal Environmental Assessment. We are eager to hear your thoughts about the project and to update you on the proposed schedule, with construction anticipated for 2014. For more informations please contact Peter Brown: ?(415) 701-5485 or peter.brown@sfmta.com.
Community Meeting - SFMTA Parking Proposals
from Saturday, January 19 10:00AM - Saturday, January 19 11:00AM
After the public hearing last January, SFMTA decided to revise their parking management plan for Mission Bay, Dogpatch, and Potrero Hill. In the meantime they've been moving full speed ahead with a similar plan for the Mission. Their plans for the Mission have been met with resistance by local residents and businesses. SFMTA's response has been to write off this opposition as NIMBYS lacking any proactive input.    In January 2012 after SFMTA presented to our membership, PDMA took an official position in favor of a parking management plan that best satisfies the needs of residents and businesses, one that takes into consideration the specific circumstances of each block where modifications are proposed. PDMA is maintaining this position, and is advocating for a similar approach in the Mission.    SFMTA has planned a community meeting in the Mission for January 19th  (10am) at John O'Connell High School. We would like to make sure that the opinions of residents and local businesses are heard before the plans are implemented. We're asking PDMA members to make an effort to attend this community meeting in support of a parking management plan that satisfies the needs of residents and businesses. If the plan is implemented in the Mission without any local input, it will set a precedent for our neighborhood. Please come and make your voice heard!
